Collection: Alex Livingston: Inhabiting Landscapes

What does it mean to inhabit landscapes?  Livingston’s exhibition ponders this question through the dynamics of animals in a state of alertness, sheltering in places alongside magnificent solo trees or at the edges of woodlands.

A distinctive blend of media is achieved through the use of digital interfaces, collage techniques, and expansive formats. The fields of painting, photography, drawing and engravings from the 18th and 19th centuries are amalgamated and digitally transformed and revised.

Alex Livingston lives in Halifax where he is a Professor at NSCAD University teaching drawing and painting.
